The style of the bullets assigned to your list is dictated by the current theme. If you change the theme, the color and style of the bullet also changes. You can however, use any graphics as a bullet, so you do have the option of replacing the current bullet style with a particular graphics.

Select Format menu.

Select Bullets and Numbering...

Select the tab (Plain Bullets tab)

Select a bullet style.

Click OK.
