The Formatting Toolbars gives you the ability
to change the text attributes. In most cases, it's just a
matter of selecting the text and then clicking the appropriate
attributes button on the formatting toolbar to change the
look of the text.

Using different fonts can add enormously
to the impact of a page. Fonts do have what you call "characters",
that is they suggest a certain mood to the reader. To change
the font of existing text, select the text to be modified
and choose the new font from the formatting toolbar.
