Secure Socket Layer (SSL) is an open standard developed by Netscape Communications for establishing a secure communications channel to prevent the interception of critical information, such as credit card numbers. The primary purpose of SSL is to enable secure electronic financial transactions on the World Wide Web. If your Web Page needs this security it can be incorporated in your web by selecting the Secure Connection Required option in the New dialog box.
