ActiveX controls are small programs that provide enhance functionality to a Web page. ActiveX controls can provide popup menus, the ability to view a Word document through a Web page, and almost all the pieces needed for Microsoft's HTML help. These controls are developed by Microsoft and implemented with Internet Explorer 3 are powerful but Windows centric. You have to get a plug-in to view ActiveX controls in Netscape Navigator.
