  Nonlinear Information Systems

Linear information is information that progresses in a straight line, beginning at Point 1 and ending at Point 2 with a set path or a sequential set of points in between. A novel or cassette tape of music are linear formats. On the Other hand, a nonlinear format is one wherein Point 2 can be reached even by skipping the set path or the set of points between Point 1 and point2. A dictionary or compact disc are good examples for Nonlinear format.
