The
file format you choose for an optimized image is determined
by the color, tonal, and graphic characteristics of the original
image. Depending on the file format, you can specify image
quality, background transparency or matting, color display
and downloading method.
Sliced
images should be compressed as JPEG or GIF. Generally JPEG
is advisable for photographs as it preserves the quality of
the scanned image.
Illustrations
with flat color, Sharp edges and Crisp detail should be compressed
as GIF files.

After the full layout is sliced, Click on the Optimized
icon (besides original in the top panel of the layout
window).
This action displays the layout in an Optimized Mode,
wherein the exact look of the layout quality as well as the
exact file size of the layout after slicing can be checked.
Dividing an image into slices lets you selectively Optimize
it for the web.

While optimizing, first select the slices with flat colours
with the Slice Select Tool.
Choose
Windows > Optimize
3.GIF
& JPEG file format is used for the web.
Color
values specified should be lowset possible by maintaing the
image quality to reduce the file size to enable faster download.

Press shift and select the slices of the menu panel except
the images surrounding the logo image with the Slice
Select Tool

In the Optimize window, select JPEG format
with the compression quality medium and image quality (0 to
100 %) depending on the layout. We have kept 42 as it is the
lowest possible optimization value.
The
number of colors decides the file size of the image.
6.
Press shift key and select the slices surrounding the logo
image.
Since these images have more effects set the File format as
jpeg, compression quality as Medium and Colors to 55.
