Choose Insert > Convert to Symbol...

Convert lines into a movie clip and name it as 'gradient
lines'.

Choose Window > Library > gradient
lines movie clip.

Double click the gradient lines movie clip to go inside
the movie clip.

Rename Layer 1 as 'Lines'.

Select the layer named as Lines.

Choose Modify > Shape > Convert
Lines to Fills

Insert a new layer (Choose Insert
> Layer) below the layer named as Lines.
