 Layer And Masking > Adding Layer Effect

  Bevel and Emboss

The Bevel and Emboss effect produces images that have a realistic, 3D feel. This effect is most often used for texts and logos.

Of all effects, the Bevel and Emboss effect provides more options. The Highlight and Shadow options both have settings for Mode and Opacity. Other unique features are given in the table shown here.

Style Provides four options : Outer bevel, Inner Bevel, Emboss and Pillow Emboss.
Depth Provides a way to set the intensity of the 3D effect, with levels from 1 to 20.
Up/Down Alternates the placement of the effect.

To apply Bevel and Emboss effect, Select Layer 1.

Right click on Layer 1.

Select Effects.

Deselect Apply option, to deselect Drop Shadow effect.

Select Bevel and Emboss instead of Drop Shadow.

Click on Apply option.

Click on OK.
