The points that connect are called anchor points. These anchor points are dragged to edit the segments of a path.

As the paths are drawn, a temporary storage area named Work Path appears in the paths palette to keep track of the paths you draw. Double click the Work Path in the Paths palette to open the Save Path dialog box.

In Name text box, type the name. Click OK.

Now we have created a path in the Paths palette. But sometimes we may want to create separate named paths for each path we draw. In the following demo we shall learn how to create new paths.

In the Paths palette, click on the "Create New Path" icon.
