When more than one layer is present in a
document, it is possible to link different layers together
so that the elements can be moved without disturbing the spatial
relationships between them.
For example, to link the two layers shown
here, we can just click on the empty box to the right of the
eye icon. This would link the unselected layer with the selected
layer. Following is the example of how linked layers can be
used.
The image shown here has three layers namely,
Background, layer1 and layer2. The layer1 and layer2 contains
a painting of a line diagonally.
Click on the empty box to the right
of the eye icon in the layer palette,
in the layer 2.
This would link layer 1 and layer 2.
Select Move
tool.
Click on the image and move the image without
releasing the mouse button.
This would make both the layers to move.
This is the result of the two layers being linked.
