Click inside the cactus selection to fill it with color.

Choose Select and Click on Deselect (Ctrl+D).

To finish painting the cactus, we will use some Custom Brushes and Add texture. To use Custom Brushes, you load the brushes into the Brushes palette and then select a brush shape.

Select the Paintbrush Tool (B) in the toolbox.

Choose Load brushes from the Brushes palette menu.
