Click Open the Brushes palette to add the Custom Brushes. The Custom Brushes are located in the Photoshop subdirectory under Goodies/Brushes.

In the Swatches palette, select a lighter color to add texture.

Using the Brush Tool, Click inside the cactus to add texture.

In the toolbox, click the default colors icon to return the Foreground color to its default of black.

In the Brushes palette, Click to select the fourth brush in the ninth row, a spiny shaped brush.
