Color Management > Producing And Printing Consistent Color

Notice that the Gamma, White Point and Primaries settings listed in the dialog box. Select Adobe RGB (1998) as the color space from the RGB field.

Adobe RGB (1998) color space more closely matches the printable (CMYK) color gamut. Click OK.

  Preparing Images for Print

The image can be inverted to produce a negative image on film and then transferred to a printing plate that will be run on press.

For printing a continuous-tone image, the image must be broken down into a series of dots. These dots are created when we apply a halftone screen to the image. The dots in a halftone screen control how much ink is deposited at a specific location.

A printed color image consists of four separate halftone screens - one each for cyan, magenta, yellow and black (the four process ink colors).

  Strategies for Successful Printing

  Working in RGB Mode

RGB mode is faster than CMYK mode because RGB files are smaller. In addition, some filters and options are available only for RGB images.

  Working in CMYK Mode

When the user works on CMYK mode, the user can print a color proof to check colors in the image while printing a file.

  Displaying Individual Channels

Click on File menu.

Click on Preferences sub menu item.
